I don’t often comment about other blog posts, but the post Why So Many Words in Worship by Kevin DeYoung caught my eye. He makes a great biblical argument for why words dominate our worship services. For all the talk about our society being visually oriented, I am reminded that even a movie with great visual affects won’t be watched unless there is sound. We may use a lot of visuals in our preaching, but we have yet to effectively replace audible preaching with visuals. We always need words to explain what we see.
